We believe every student deserves the chance to succeed and that access to healthy food is essential to that success. Through the Feeding Futures project we aim to empower schools by providing knowledge and resources, in order to become central hubs for addressing food security, benefiting students and families across California.
Programs and policies that support access to food while students are on campus help ensure that students have the nourishment they need to focus, learn, and fully engage in their education. Schools across California are addressing food insecurity in a wide variety of ways:
Universal free breakfast and lunch are critical to addressing food insecurity for students; unfortunately, these 10 meals a week are insufficient. Developing partnerships to support food security for students and families beyond the school day can help ensure that all children are fed and ready for school.
We’re here to answer your questions, provide support, and assist with your food security initiatives. Whether you need help with a project, want to learn more about resources, or have success stories or resources of your own to share with other sites, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out to us today!
