Feeding Futures

We believe every student deserves the chance to succeed and that access to healthy food is essential to that success. Through the Feeding Futures project we aim to empower schools by providing knowledge and resources, in order to become central hubs for addressing food security, benefiting students and families across California.

Programs and policies that support access to food while students are on campus help ensure that students have the nourishment they need to focus, learn, and fully engage in their education. Schools across California are addressing food insecurity in a wide variety of ways:

Universal free breakfast and lunch are critical to addressing food insecurity for students; unfortunately, these 10 meals a week are insufficient. Developing partnerships to support food security for students and families beyond the school day can help ensure that all children are fed and ready for school.
